Medications are an important part of your recovery and ongoing treatment. We will support you to understand what medications you are prescribed and what they do. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions. Your medications will be optimised in collaboration with your General Practitioner and Cardiology Consultant.

GTN spray instructionsGTN spray

If you have pain/discomfort and it doesn’t resolve quickly and you have been prescribed a GTN spray, use your spray as instructed:

  • Sit down, stay calm
  • Use your GTN spray under your tongue
  • Wait for 5 minutes
  • If still pain/tightness, repeat the GTN spray
  • Wait for 5 minutes
  • If still in pain, stay calm and dial 999 for an ambulance

If the symptoms are resolved after the first or second spray, rest for 10 minutes before carrying on your activities at a reduced pace.​​​​​​
